Show notes (please see Timestamps below for more detail)
In this episode of The Greg Bennett Show, Greg has a delightful conversation with Dr. Hannah Wells.
Dr. Hannah Wells is one of the greatest prospects to hit the world of Triathlon.
In her short time as a professional athlete, she has won every major ½ distance race in the Oceania region: including the Tauranga 1/2, Challenge Wanaka, and the Ironman 70.3’s Sunshine Coast, Western Sydney, Taupo, & Geelong amongst others.
Even more spectacular she’s 72 hours off the back of debuting in her first Ironman, in IM New Zealand which she won convincingly in 9.01 hr/min.
And if that is not enough, she has a Ph.D. in Biotech Engineering. She did her Ph.D. looking at the structure of collagen in a range of tissues and natural materials and won two international awards.
In this episode, we get a better understanding of how she does it all and looking at her journey and her process.
Dr. Wells describes her journey into the world of Triathlon. Only starting the sport in her early 20's her rise to the top has been remarkably fast. She spent many years balancing her work and Triathlon and adventure racing. But after a successful 2019, she has gone all-in on the sport of Triathlon.
She discusses her love of the sport of Triathlon, the people, the training, and the racing. She explains the importance of listening to her body and adapting the training accordingly,
Her advice to never stop learning and to focus on the process is something we all need reminding of.
