Show notes (please see Timestamps below for more detail)
In this episode of The Greg Bennett Show, Greg has a delightful conversation with Javier Gomez-Noya.
Javier is a very special return guest. He was on the show at the start of January in 2020, in episode 4. If you haven’t listened, be sure to check it out.
He’s a man who has won more Triathlons than anyone else in the history of the sport. A career that has spanned almost two decades with 9 world titles over various distances and formats, including 5 ITU World Championships titles, 2 Ironman 70.3 World Titles, an ITU Long course world title, and an Xterra Off-road world title. Add to that a silver medal at the Olympics.
But he’s far more than a champion athlete, he’s one of the best men I know. We’ve lived and shared some epic training sessions together, and battled on the racecourse numerous times. And I’m honored to call him a friend.
It’s a privilege to have him back on the show
In this episode, Javier discusses who he thinks is the greatest triathlete of all time and what athletes have forced him to become better. Javier shares his thoughts on the fast bouncy shoes that are now so popular and the improvements in bike technology.
He describes some of his epic training days and shares his biggest meltdown.
The episode concludes with some tips on how to optimize your life and some fun quick-fire questions.
This was simply a really great conversation with an extraordinary man.
